The Flu shot, Influenza Vaccine, protects you against the
most current strains of Influenza A and B.
The CDC recommends the Flu Shot for anyone who wants to avoid getting the
Flu.
It is especially important to get the Flu Shot every year if you are at
risk for getting complications from the flu, or if you could expose people
who are at risk for complications from the flu.

YOU SHOULD NOT GET THE FLU SHOT IF:
you have a severe allergy to chicken eggs,
you had a severe reaction to an influenza vaccination in the past,
you developed Guillan-Barre` Syndrome within 6 weeks of getting an influenza
vaccine.
If
you are sick with a fever, you should wait to get vaccinated until the
symptoms lessen.
